Committee Rulings from Round 4

The committee’s decisions on the disputes and appeals raised after round 4 games at its meeting on Tuesday are as follows:

1. PC Nambawan v Niusmakers

Niusmakers appealed against the referees decision to allow play to continue when the PC Nambawan player missed the black ball after potting the last coloured ball. The opponent was on the black ball at the time and when play continued, the player potted both the black and white, therefore losing the game to Nambawan.
The decision made was “the player who misses or fouls on the black after all colors have been potted loses that game. The Nambawan player missed the black ball therefore the game is awarded to Niusmakers”
This rule has been added to the game rules as Rule no. 11.

2. NBC v Komodo

NBC did not have a full team when play started and after 15 minutes, a forfeit was claimed by Komodo.
The decision by the committee was “NBC did not fill out a team sheet and were not ready 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time therefore the game be awarded to Komodo as a win on forfeit”.
This is the second forfeit NBC have conceded and one more forfeit may result in the suspension of the team (refer rule 3 under Disqualifications of the Rules and Regulations of the competition).

3. Crime Stoppers v FM 100

Crime Stoppers changed the team sheet while the match was in progress and included a new player who had just arrived. Rule no.6 of General Conditions of the Rules and Regulations of the competition was breached and the committee’s decision was “the game be awarded to FM 100 due to breach of this rule by Crime Stoppers”.
All rules and regulations were enforced from last weekend and will continue until the end of the competition.

4. Uniforms

Those teams that have two different sets of uniforms must decide on which set to wear per Saturday and must be uniform. If the players are wearing one or the other set and the team is not in one color or uniform, the referee must be advised by the captain which is the official uniform for that Saturday otherwise rules 3 and 4 under Dress Codes of the Rules and Regulations of the competition will be enforced.
