Dear all,
The Committee had a meeting yesterday to address an urgent matter raised by the Lamana management following Saturday’s Round One match.
The Lamana management complained that they had a few problems with some media pool players not dressed decently as per the club rules.
Due to the misconduct by a minority, please be informed that the management have no choice but will have to have security enforce the rules this Saturday onwards and they do not want any problems arising from this, as there were arguments from some of the players who were not dressed appropriately.
The management has also stressed that they do not want to have to cancel their sponsorship of the venue for this.
This is what was discussed by the committee and everyone should take note of it.
Remember that Lamana is a Hotel with a reputation to keep. All its members/clients/guests enter with high regard and respect for the Club’s Dressing & Behaviour Code and we must do the same.
Also remember that it is NOT Club 22 where you can come with shorts, cut jeans, slippers, round neck T-shirts etc… so DON’T bring the Club 22 rules across to Lamana where they have standard professional Code of Dressing.
We are media people and are suppose to be showing a good example.
The committee will be forwarding you the rules for Lamana as soon as they send it to us.
No alcohol should be carried into Lamana.
The security had noted some instances and this should not be repeated by all means.
This is an embarrassment for us as professional media people and very disrespectful to Lamana.
We have to respect the fact that Lamana has provided a very decent venue for us to host this competition and the only way out of appreciation is to go play our game and buy a beer or two.
If you have extra bottles or cans, finish them outside before coming in.
The committee is reiterating Lamana Management’s concern and is appealing to Team Captains & Managers to uphold the Code of Conduct Rules.
It has come to a stage where the management is considering canceling the sponsorship of the venue so everyone has to help support the committee’s effort to make sure that this does not happen again.
A
s we still have 13 more weeks to go and to ensure a very successful competition without any more problems such as this, the committee has agreed in its meeting to impose a K50 fine on the team whose player(s) misconducts in behaviour or dressing.
The K50 fine has to be paid before the next match or the team would not be asked to play.
It’s up to the team captains, managers to ensure their players respect the rules of the competition and club to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
The committee has also selected these individuals from the 16 teams to help as match committee members to help the committee see the smooth running of each match.
One of the match committee’s responsibilities will be to supervise the matches, check players if in uniform to play and if not accord forfeits etc…but you all will be updated by the match committee chairman, Ephata Samuel and his assistant Kas T when they call you for a meeting soon.
